Sato Kinbei received sokeship to the Ryu directly from Toshitsugu Takamatsu, who was the previous soke. Most scrolls have no illustrations or few, and those that do are not often coloured. 7. Gikan-ryu Koppojutsu
He was found by Matsutaro Ishitani, who was himself on the way to the battle. There is no question that Hatsumi was a direct student of Takamatsu and also trained with Akimoto. His castle was known as Uryujo. This style is known for its low stances, with much of the footwork within the Bujinkan system coming from this ryu. As the story accounts, from this time on, any information concerning Gikan Ryu was held exclusively by Sato Kinbei Sensei in the various forms of knowledge, scrolls and texts.

Sadly, Akimoto passed away in Gikan ryu contains many special kicks, punches, and throws and its dynamic footwork is used gikam within the Bujinkan system. He was also a master of Hichojutsu, and Senban Nage. From what we understand there are no densho in the Gikan Ryu.
